A Big Gambling For The Career

Yesterday, in the middle of my lonesome time. A friend of mine asked me if is would like to work with him at his new really really startup company, and guess what, im his first employee. My mind and heart is struggling and im in totally confused situation. If the company success, if will be at the top-level management position, but if situation happened at the other way? yeah, you can guess it and do the answer of yourself.

Luckily I still tied in a contract with my current employer, at least until next year. Well, in the period of my professional contract, i will see the prospect of his company. If everything goes right and it became potential, i might have joined the team. But in case, things happened otherwise, well maybe i will stay with the current employer or moving my step away with the other. Nobody knows about the future, lets hope for the best, pray, do the best and let God do his way on you.

Christmas is Arriving

Christmas is arriving soon, it’s about 1 week again, we’ll celebrate Christmas Day around the world. Sadly, this is the 2nd year of my christmas that the day is arriving so so for me, feels nothing special about it..

Wondering if time could round back into the 2007, when i still at RGK Service, we are busy at the time. Busy preparing everything, so the Christmas would be perfect. Now, everything has been changed, I’m no longer at RGK and i have no business in preparing the celebration.

Turn back into 2007. Still remember when me and 3 friends spending the night at the church, to buy a bucket of dry ice that will be used on the celebration day. We spending the night with happily ever after though we have to sleep without any bed, just a thin, very thin mattress as our sleeping bed. But once again, i’m so happy at the time, found my world.

Not only for ourselves celebration, we kinda busy attending our post’s Christmas Celebration, (somekind of branch), located at the various locations at Jakarta. I did for the Kelapa Gading, Green Garden and Bojong Indah posts. Small place of them, but we are happy, not because of the place we are happy, but because we are unite in the flag of GKI and Jesus Christ.

Hope this kind of feeling wont be stand for any longer… hope everything will be better and okay soon. Merry Christmas All, Jesus Bless Us All.

Blogging using BlogDesk

Not for so long, I had a little talk with my friend about blogging and ive just known that i can use third party software to do the blogging. Gosh, im so so the oldstyle, do the blog for about 7 years and knew nothing about this.

Well, i did googled about third party software, found several and i choose BlogDesk as my tool to do the blog. BlogDesk user interface is so simple, no need to be an advanced user to use it. So, just download the installer from www.blogdesk.org/en/index.htm. And here’s the screenshot from it.

3 main reasons why i use software instead of blogging online via web:

• No need to take any media uploading, just embed the media and press Submit/Publish/Upload or something sounds similar.
• No need to online every time i want to write a new post.
• Easy to manage Multiple Blogs.

The Same Old Problem

Lately, in my office, me and some of my colleagues just have had a discussion about the same old problem that i think every IT company will face about it– “How to handle IT Project wisely”.

Well, maybe sounds simple, you can do googling about it  and found numerous answers and discussions. But, believe me, the answer is not as simple as it answered on the net.

I have to be honest, since i joined my current employer, everything looks so awful and unmanageable. Lets see, for the example, im  involved in the project that have no documentation. Well let me bold it for your NO DOCUMENTATION. Really, i got a little brain freeze for a while after i heard my colleague said to me , “Documentation? we have none”…  WHAT?  project with no documentation and formal description? Gosh, got speechless for a while, not so while honestly cause i still speechless until now. And for the worse, i’m the only developer that involved in my current project. Guess why i’m the only one? for the silly reason, nobody wants to be involved in the endlessly project. Well, a little bit startled after heard the real reason from my another friend. sounds so amateur honestly. I know it clearly, nobody, nobody and again nobody wants to be in the endlessly project, but i thought think as a professional we have no rights to choose which project we will be involved in. The lucky one get a good project while the unlucky get an endlessly, thats all, still no rights to choose.

Well, that’s one case, and here is another case. Job Desc,  let me draw it in your mind. The Quality Control became Project Manager and they have to be in meeting at the unpredictable time. For the example, if client wants to held a meeting at 3 PM, so they have to be there at the certain time. Meanwhile, they still have the testing job, so please give me answer for this thing

Who will do the test?

The answer is between two, Nobody or they will do the test later. Later, IF IF IF they have a time. remember the IFs .

Really, i take no blame on the QC staffs, i see them as a victim to be honest. Can you imagine, one person has to handle 2 or 3 projects at the same time. Mention the projects as A,B and C.  A has a meeting at the 3 PM, B is waiting to be tested, meanwhile C is stubborn client and the “right-know” type (you know what it’s means right?). I still wondering how the QC handle their life…..

And here is the last case, at least on this post. Imagine the situation that i asked my friend like this “Hey, you are the developer that made it before me, Why and How you made this module?”.. Guess what is the answer i got…”I don’t know, just copy and paste the one on the different project”. Draw it on your mind, You are being charged in handling another’s module, you ask him/her about How and Why and you got that answer… You are lucky enough not to get the hair-dryer treatment from me.

Gosh…  for those 3 cases, really, i hate the last case most, it so got into my nerves. I hate the “Dont know, just copy and paste” answer. The answer just described you as an unprofessional.  Hopes everything will be fine soon or at least better than present.

Lonely is the night….

I knew this song since a long time ago, maybe for 8-10 years back to the past. But now i know what is the real meaning about being lonely in the middle of night, without someone that you love so much… For worse, you know that you love her more than you thought before… You allowed her to went away from your life,  thought that you would be all right to do live without her, but the fact came in the otherwise.

You both are getting closer than you everthought you might… For once and several onces, you thought that she came to cure you, she became the light of your life, just like a small candle in the dark winter night.  You’ve forgotten what you started fighting for. You love her just the way she is, you would never ask her to change, her strengths and weakness. You love how to interact with her, how she treat you, how she….so humble and being such a lovely person in your life… Sometimes you were arguing at each other, be blessed, you would miss the moment a lot especially when she is gone.

Everybody changing, time moves so fast but it left so many memories behind.. or it moves too fast…

New Family Members

My cat just gave birth to 3 little kittens, so, welcoming new family members.

Smile hey new members,

My mom just found them at the bottom of the bed… She thought the cat only gave birth 2 kittens, but after seeking a little bit longer, she found another one… phew, what a nice place to grow up a family.

My B-Day

Today is my birthday and i’m 24 YO now. Actually, i have nothing to do at my birthday, the only thing in my mind is i want to celebrate it with my college friends, they are the best and they are always by my side supporting me at my lowest path, cheering me up when tears are getting cheaper, and sharing their happiness with me.

I hope time wont change us, let us change the time. A little naive statement maybe, but really i hope so. I know how it feels when friends are letting me down, cut-lost at me and when they are talking  at me at my back. Hope that wont be happened at our friendship guys. Luckily, now i know who is my truly friends, a bunch of people that i can trust them and they won’t disappointed me.

Enough with friends and now is the time for you hey Math-Girl. I know you wont read this blog and i just want to tell you, even you a’int told, this is my special day and i want you at by my side. im getting crazy here, missing you so much and for the worst, now i know i love you more than i knew before.  Hmm.. hopefully you are alright there, hoping all the best for you. We have had some nice moments, shared funny stories, good foods, getting angry at each other, and still many more that i cant write down in here, they just live in my nerve. But past is past, and it wont be the future for anybody, wont be us too. Good bye Math-Girl.

Doing what it has to be…

Still remember Friendster ? well this old-brother of Facebook.  Recently, i had checked my blog host on FS, and i have to admit that im surprised that my blog is still works fine, well and complete,(Eventhough , it was too complete), from the first post of my blog until  i left it and moved to this blog.

Enough is enough, so i just  decided  to cancel my blog at Friendster, just the blog, not the account. So, from now on, adios http://altnive.blogs.friendster.com, will miss you, but i’m just doing what it has to be done.

Something about blogging

I have had discussion with a friend of mine, http://sphyrna.wordpress.com, yeah, he own that blog. I’m asking about how often he got his blog updated, not asking in literraly, well i saw his blog archive and got the number:

• the best is: 17 posts in month, happened in August 2010.

See that number, 17 posts in a month, my best record maybe less than a half of him.. So, from now on, i will write new post consistently (hope so).

Enough for today, and at least this short blog will add  1 point to my post counter
